Milan men’s fashion week fall/winter 2015-16 was held from 16th January to 20th January. The show was not so promising and was kept too banal. However, we witnessed that the Milan men’s fashion week, centered around androgynous trends along with other prominent trends like checkered patterns, hand bags, mallow, Harris Tweed, corduroy, monochrome. Here are some of the stand out trends from the Milan Runway.

CHECKERED PATTERNS
Most designers have used checkered tartan patterns. There isn’t much variation and innovation. But, it is observed as the most sought after trend for this season.

CORDUROY
Corduroy adds to the functionality of the garment. It is very classic.In Bottega Veneta’s collection; we can see how a Corduroy jacket has been successfully teamed up with coloured trousers adding a fun element to the overall look. But, the usage of the usual and common beige corduroy colour in Tod’s collection is a bummer.

HAND BAGS
New trend for Fall 2015 is the excessive usage of handbags in most of the collections by the various designers. The handbags add to the androgyny trend and also, a variety of colours have been used to enhance the overall look.Antonio Marras has used the same colour as the overcoat for their bag and Versace has teamed up a brown leather bag with a formal wear.

 

MONOCHROME
Winter is all about monochromatic glamour. Although Bottega Veneta, Dolce and Gabbana have tried to break the monotony by using various colours and patterns, most of the designers have safely stuck to blacks, whites and greys. Corneliani has shown a degree of variation by using a shade of green.

HARRIS TWEED
It is a Scottish hand woven material. A lot of designers were seen using Harris tweed in their collection. The fabric has been used as an outer wear.

MALLOW
Mallow or pink is the colour of the season.Keeping in mind the ongoing Androgynous trend, Mallow fits the bill perfectly. The feminity of the colour strikes a perfect balance with the masculinity of the garments.
